Confirming Kindness.

Today I am trying to tie up all of my loose ends before I leave for Lithuania. I have been on the phone all day with different banks and my cell phone provider. These phone calls usually aren't too fun and include a lot of waiting time and listening to recorded voices, but today I experienced something different and unexpected.

I have been making these calls for the past month trying to figure out what I should do about canceling my phone, and alerting banks of my international travel. I wasn't always greeted with a warm voice. Today I made my final calls to really confirm that it is time to leave and the three different people I spoke to inquired why in the world I was headed to Lithuania for a year. When I told them that I was going to be a missionary to college students they thanked me. All three took the time to tell me that they really appreciate the work that I am doing, they also told me about their friends that are currently taking part in missions work, and one women even told me she has always wanted to go on a missions trip and is finally going to look into it now!!!

I was amazed at God's plan for me today. My heart was filled with the love and kindness of complete strangers, He always knows how to encourage us at just the right time! The words that these telephone operators spoke to me meant so much and I hope I never forget the kindness they showed me today.

God provides.

Here is a quick fundraising update, we are getting SO close! Only 15 days left and I am feeling so confident and ready to start this new adventure! Thank you!

I therefore, a prisoner for the Lord, urge you to walk in a manner worthy of the calling to which you have been called, with all humility and gentleness, with patience, bearing with one another in love, eager to maintain the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace. There is one body and one Spirit—just as you were called to the one hope that belongs to your call— one Lord, one faith, one baptism.

The Homestretch.

I leave for Lithuania in 17 days and I have $3,740 left to raise for the 12 months. Things are starting to set in and get real. Please say a prayer for this time of fundraising and preparing to move out of the country. There are so many preparations that I wasn't expecting like settling bank info, canceling my cell phone, selling my stuff, etc. I could you all of the peace prayers I can get :)

Thank you all so much for journeying alongside me and supporting me ever before I leave for the mission. A few people have been asking for my mailing address in Lithuania so I thought I'd post it here. I would appreciate all the letters I can get!

Jehovah-Jireh.

With only 22 days left in this country I am in a time of preparation and prayer for this next year as a missionary representing God's love to the people of Lithuania. I was writing some thank you cards the other day to my supporters and I wrote, " I think Jesus is trying to show me that He will ALWAYS provide for the calls He places on my life, and I can see that He is using you (the supporter) to help teach me that lesson through your beautiful gift of financial support for my next year of life."

This sentence and realization was shocking in a lovely way. I have been anxious about this period of fundraising and have needed the encouragement that people are giving me. I have been praying to see the Lord's work, as well as praying for increased trust and faith that everything will work out. I have adored the phrase Jehovah-Jireh for a long time now, this is a name for God meaning the "Lord who Provides". Jesus is showing me in this time that it is in His very nature to provide for us like a good parent should. He wants to take care of us and He can give us so much if we only allow Him to.

If you are facing any obstacles in life right now that you aren't sure how to navigate, start talking to Him, He will open your eyes like you wouldn't believe.

Logo.

It's never too late to pick up a new hobby I guess! I have discovered my passion for lettering and I've started playing around with translating my drawings into digital art. Here is a logo that I created today for the blog!

Fundraising Update.

Raising funds is hard, humbling, and requires a lot of patience and trust. I have really been showing my weakness of worrying lately. There are 30 days left before I leave for my year in Lithuania and I still have a good amount of funds to raise. I am saving every penny I can, spreading the word about my trip, and praying to see God's work in myself and the people around me. Yesterday I was walking with my Aunt when I reached into my purse to fish out my Chapstick, and then I saw a piece of paper and wasn't sure what it was. When I unfolded it slightly I realized that my cousin and her husband had slipped a generous donation check into my purse the night before and I lost control! I started crying hysterically right there on the sidewalk. The kindness that people are showing me is almost too much to bare. God is showing me His overwhelming love through the people He has put in my life. I am being encouraged in my time of waiting and I am so grateful. I am so excited to share the stories and miracles that I witness in Lithuania to these people who already believe that this is a year long trip worth going on.

Update on Support:
Raised: $1,565        Need: $8,705

A special thank you to all those who have donated and who are believing in God's plan for Lithuania!
